Right roots…

I have seen Christians in Communist prisons with fifty pounds of chains on their feet, tortured with red-hot iron pokers, in whose throats spoonfuls of salt had been forced, being kept afterward without water, starving, whipped, suffering from cold— and praying with fervor for the Communists. This is humanly inexplicable! It is the love of Christ, which was poured out in our hearts. ” -TORTURED FOR CHRIST By Richard Wurmbrand

Wow, what impact these words have. We might not have to face the same situations, I hope no man ever faces those situations.

Many times we justify someone sinning against us or hurting us and let the bitterness for a person grow in us. We think to ourselves that they have done wrong and need to repent for us to let go of it. I myself have done this many times, sometimes with people really close to me. Often times it is people close to us that we have an attitude towards because they have the most ability to hurt us.

God is not bitter towards us he has shown us just love despite our failures and unfaithfulness. He has paid for all of our sins on the cross. He wants us to forgive others the same way he forgives us and not to keep it in us.

Sometimes we think that if they know their wrong then I will let it go.Do not let bitterness take root in you whatever the excuse may be.

Today, think who are you harboring any bitterness or any thoughts other than love towards and let it go. Ask God today to give you love even towards your enemies or people who hurt you. As humans we fall short but with God’s help we can love like Jesus.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.  And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. (Ephesians 4:31-32)
